Professional Standards

For Real Estate Agents

  • Maintain current EAAB/PPRA registration and professional indemnity insurance
  • Provide accurate property information and honest market assessments
  • Disclose all material facts and potential conflicts of interest
  • Respect client confidentiality and handle trust accounts properly
  • Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Comply with all applicable laws and professional regulations
  • Never engage in discriminatory practices or unfair treatment

For Landlords

  • Provide accurate property descriptions and rental terms
  • Maintain properties in good condition and address maintenance issues promptly
  • Respect tenant rights and privacy as outlined in lease agreements
  • Handle deposits fairly and in accordance with legal requirements
  • Communicate clearly about rental policies and procedures
  • Treat all prospective tenants fairly without discrimination
  • Provide proper notice for property inspections and entry

For Tenants/Renters

  • Provide accurate information in rental applications
  • Pay rent and utilities on time as agreed in the lease
  • Maintain the property in good condition and report issues promptly
  • Respect neighbors and community rules
  • Communicate openly with landlords about any concerns
  • Give proper notice when terminating tenancy
  • Leave the property in good condition upon departure

Review and Rating Standards

Appeals Process

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you have the right to appeal:

  3. Our review team will investigate within 14 business days
  4. You will receive a written response with the final decision
  5. Decisions may be escalated to senior management if needed
